Afro Diaspora Connect - July Edition - VeSoko Feature
The July edition of Afro Diaspora Connect spotlights VeSoko alongside other diaspora-focused ventures and developments — from new investment platforms and AI labs to civic milestones and upcoming cultural events across the U.S.

VeSoko in the community spotlight
Afro Diaspora Connect featured VeSoko co-founder Yves Semana Gisubizo in its July community roundup. The spotlight introduced VeSoko's work connecting diaspora shoppers with authentic African goods while helping African-owned retailers reach customers across the United States.
VeSoko launched in August 2025 with a practical goal: make products from home easier for diaspora communities to discover and buy, while giving independent retailers a stronger digital path to nationwide customers. The feature recognizes that mission and the people building it.
Why this recognition matters
Visibility in diaspora-focused media helps more than brand awareness. It gives shoppers, retailers, and potential partners an independent reference point for understanding what VeSoko is building and whom the marketplace serves.
The July edition placed VeSoko alongside other developments shaping business, technology, and culture across Africa and the diaspora. Topics included new investment platforms, mentorship programs, artificial-intelligence initiatives, civic milestones, and major infrastructure proposals.
Building connections through commerce
For VeSoko, commerce is also a way to strengthen connections between communities. Every trusted retailer added to the marketplace expands the selection available to shoppers and creates another route for African businesses to reach the diaspora.
The Afro Diaspora Connect spotlight is a welcome sign that this work is becoming visible within the wider community.
