Apetamin is a syrup that combines cyproheptadine hydrochloride — a strong antihistamine — with the amino acid lysine and several B vitamins. Cyproheptadine blocks serotonin receptors that normally suppress hunger, so it is widely marketed as an appetite stimulant and weight-gain aid.
